Child Care Council of Suffolk, Inc.
As an Early Childhood educator you work to meet children?s self-esteem and self-actualization by observing and getting to know each child individually and acknowledging, respecting, and appreciating who each child is. You help them appreciate the characteristics that define them uniquely. Being social is a learned behavior that involves feeling comfortable around other people, enjoying their company, understanding their cultural norms and values, forming mutually respectful relationships, and understanding how to resolve conflicts. As an early childhood educator, you play a major role in the development of these skills.
