Description

In this workshop we will discuss laws concerning mandated reporting in New York State. We will look at indicators for physical, mental, and sexual abuse as well as neglect. The participants will be given resources for making a report to the SCR and ideas on how to teach children about personal safety. In addition we will discuss the definition of Shaken Baby Syndrome, we will explore the physical consequences of shaking a child and the most common trigger, crying. The participants will explore different ways to sooth a crying baby.
