Description

Based on the requirements for the Child Development Associate National Credential (CDA).  This is part 1 of 4 for candidates who are working towards fulfilling the 120-hour CDA education requirement. Participants will learn how to maintain a safe child care environment, teach children about safety, promote wellness, prevent illness, teach children about good nutrition, and identify and report child abuse and maltreatment. Participants will also learn how to organize and properly use the physical space for learning environment. Child Development Associate Training I: Safety, Health, and Learning Environment Competency goals I and including 3 of the 13 functional areas of study.  Topics on CDA overview, maintaining a safe physical setting, implementing emergency plans and promoting wellness overview.
