This course presents the process of introducing science for young children. The participants will develop an understanding of early science concepts. Participants will also explore developmentally-appropriate materials and literature for young children that foster early science skills and discuss the importance of the teacher as facilitator. It includes planning and implementation of appropriate activities and development of methods and techniques of delivery, fostering an exploration of methods for teaching young children science concepts and process skills through discovery and play. Participants will become familiar with NYS Early Learning Guidelines and the goals and objectives related to early science development.
