CPR and First Aid represent a layer of defense to keep children and adults safe in and around your program. Recognizing emergencies and how to respond will allow participants to act in a timely fashion to provide the best protection that could lead to saving a life or preventing further harm. We will explore a variety of situations that could occur on a day to day basis and what the proper response would be based on age and level of severity. Breathing emergencies, evaluating the scene of an accident, proper illness and wound care, environmental emergencies, and cardiac emergencies will all be items of discussion. By participating in this course and successfully completing the mandatory assessment and skills demonstrations you will be awarded certification in Adult and Pediatric CPR and First Aid. This course is applicable to all modalities of care and any staff that will be left alone with children during program hours
