Description
Children?s physical development is not just a matter of biology; it is process fueled by experience and opportunity (Bredekamp, 2011). As an early educator, you promote physical development by giving children chances to use their large and small muscles and build their coordination.Cognitive development refers to children?s increasing ability to think as they grow. Children?s brains develop rapidly during early childhood. When we communicate, we express thoughts, ideas, information, and experiences through the way we speak, write, and display nonverbal cues, like facial expressions and crossed arms. We develop these skills at an early age. Children learn to speak and build their vocabularies through direct interaction with more competent speakers, like older children and adults.
